Kaidan & Delilah: Part 2

He got her hand and escorted His fiancee' back into the hall to have a dance or two.

The night went on, nearing the end, all the guests were called outside, and once they were all gathered, High-LOrd Olan was standing at front, "I thank you all for attending this evening and I hope to see you all next year for this grand occasion. But for the final event for the night!" he motioned to the sky and then FIREWORKS got shot to the black sky and exploded in blasts of colour.

The sky lit up with an array of bright colors. The party-goers were all gathered outside to see the show. It was indeed a night of firsts for Lilah. She had seen all types of magic, but never had she seen fireworks of this magnitude. Her eyes were fixed on the sky as she admired the explosive light show.

"It's so beautiful..." She squeezed Kaidan's hand and moved closer to nuzzled under his arm and enjoy the show.

He smiled, "I didn't tell you this part." he chuckled a little, "I thought I would leave at least some surprises." he said, touching her hand as she leans against him, while the rest of the crowd were 'oooing' and 'awing' at the sights of the fireworks.

Lilah looked at him and leaned in to kiss his lips, "This has been such a magical night. Thank you...for everything." She snuggled closer under him and rested her head on his chest as they watched the fireworks light up the dark sky.

"Anything for you Lilah....I mean it." he smiled, kissing her back.

Vashti and Striker were waiting by the clan's shadow gate, knowing they would be returning any minute. He gate activated and Striker stood to attention as Kaidan and Lilah walked through, looking tired but seemed to have had a good time, "How was the Ball?" Vashti asked Lilah.

Lilah was happy to be back home again as she and Kaidan walked through the Shadow Gate. She was surprised to find Striker and Vashti waiting for them. "It was wonderful! We had such a fun time. I got a lot of compliments on my gown too." She said to Vashti while giving her a big thank you hug.

Vashti smiled, "Let's go get you out of the dress so you can relax." she said to Lilah

"I'll se back at our room Lilah." Kaidan kissed her hand before letting her go on with Vashti.

Lilah gave him a smile and a nod before she went on with Vashti to change out of her dress and back into her training uniform which was much more comfortable. Scout heard his mistress' voice and came flying about and landed on her shoulder. "Hey there, boy. Did you miss me?" She chuckled and stroked his head with her fingers.

He gave a little squeak as she petted him, "So, what was asked?" Vashti said as she got Delilah's hand with the ring.

Lilah's face started to turn red with embarrassment when Vashti noticed her ring. She wanted to wait until Kaidan announced their engagement formally, but it was hard to get anything past Vashti.

"Kaidan asked me to marry him...and I said yes." She said sheepishly.

She blinked, "Oh my......about time he asked you." she said.

Lilah laughed, "Everyone seems to think that. He asked me a few months ago, but he asked me officially tonight at the ball. Even his father approved."

"SOLOMON." she looked at her funny, "Solomon Bale.....agreed?"

"Y-Yes he did." Lilah was surprised to see her react in such a way. "Why is that so shocking?" She asked.

"I was Eva's Maid of Honour at her wedding.....Solomon was a FUSSY and non agreeable with many things.....when Kaidan was younger he was looking to possible brides for him when he was older.....and Eva didn't agree with arranged marriage since their marriage was not arranged." said Vashti.

"I never seen him agree to ANYTHING so simply."

"That sounds like Solomon alright...he didn't seem happy or upset about it. He just seemed satisfied. It was hard to tell how he felt at all really." Lilah explained. She turned her back to Vashti so she could help her unlace the back of her dress.

"He's always been that way. That's why he was never able to find a wife before he Met Eva....she had patience......until she was not longer able to deal with it." she sighed as he unlaced her. "But none of that. Kaidan is nothing like his father in that sense luckily."

In many ways, Lilah felt bad for Solomon. She wished things could have been different for him and his late wife. "Yes...Kaidan told me what happened. I hate he had to lose his wife like that. No one deserves that no matter how hard hearted they are..."

Lilah stepped behind a screen once the dress was loose enough for her to take it off. She hung it up and took all her accessories off before putting her training uniform back on. She stepped back out once she was fully dressed. "I would be honored if you could design my wedding dress, Vashti." She said with a smile.

"Its said he hasn't spoken about his wife to anyone in a long time.......which is saddening...when Eva walked into a room, it lit up. Like you do." she smiled. "You two would have gotten along VERY well."

"I planned to do so even if you didn't ask." she winked.

"I wish I could have met her. She sounds like such a lovely woman from the way Kaidan described her." Lilah yawned softly, the nights events having finally caught up with her.

"Thank you, Vashti. I just can't wait to marry Kaidan. Well, good night." She waved to her and whistled to Scout that it was time to go. She walked down the long winding hallway to the High Lords chambers where she and Kaidan slept.

"She was lovely....kind and generous.....not something you see in a vampiress often...SO opposite to Solomon." she sighed, but then chuckled seeing her getting sleepy.

"You've a day of rest tomorrow." she smiled, "A Brand new year for you both and this clan...you two will excel this clan to greatness, I know you will and your children will be good." she got the dress hung up, "sad on dear, he's waiting for you."

Kaidan was already undressed and now just in sleeping pants and topless.

Lilah smiled and chuckled at her comment, "Yes, I better get going. He is quite impatient."

She opened the door to their room and walked inside letting Scout fly up to his usual hiding spot. "Feels good to be back in normal clothes again." She couldn't help but eye his chiseled bare chest and softly bit her lip.

He smiled, "Agreed. And We have a day of rest tomorrow until the the new year officially begins." he smiled, "I' sleeping in tomorrow." he yawned, he then noticed her eyeing him and he chuckled, "As beautiful and stunning you look my love, forgive me but I need some sleep."

"I can't admire my husband to be without being accused of having an agenda. What a shame." She said being cheeky with him. She chuckled and walked over to him. "You get some rest. I'll be along in a bit." She gave him a gentle but chaste kiss on his cheek and went to change into her short silk gown.

He smiled, "Sorry love, just saying."

He got laying in bed to get comfortable as he relaxed, "Aww damn so good to be in bed."
